I am interested in making deep learning methods more robust out-of-distribution.
I am a PhD student at Mila supervised by Aaron Courville, with a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from the University Politehnica of Bucharest supervised by Marius Leordeanu. Previously I worked in an great research team at Bitdefender, Bucharest, Romania, and spend some time at Empirical Inference department led by Bernhard Schölkopf of Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, Tübingen, Germany.
I previously researched how to obtain models with good inductive biases for reasoning over entities and relations. My past work revolved around Graph Neural Networks and object-centric methods applied in the video domain. Recently, I have been interested in researching out-of-distribution robustness and making connections to invariant learning, causally inspired representation learning, and object-centric methods.
